Concurrency and limits
How many calls, chats and automations can run at once — set by your concurrency lines, and visible on the limits overview.
Concurrency lines
A concurrency line is capacity for one call at a time. Your workspace can run as many simultaneous calls as it has lines. Lines can be bought and reduced from the balance page.
Other workloads scale with your lines too. For each line you get capacity for a number of simultaneous automation runs, agent tasks and website chats.
What happens at the limit
Each workload behaves differently when it is full, on purpose:
| Workload | At the limit |
|---|---|
| Calls | Wait for a free line |
| Automation runs | Wait as pending, and start when capacity frees up |
| Agent tasks | Are held as scheduled, and start when a running one finishes |
| Website chats | Are refused, and the visitor is asked to try again shortly |
Chats are refused rather than queued because someone is waiting on the other side of the widget. WhatsApp and SMS conversations do not count toward the chat limit.
Seeing your limits
The Overview tab of the usage page shows every limit, how much of it is in use, and what raises it — read from the same counters that enforce the limits.
Per-number limits
A single phone number can be limited below the workspace total, so one campaign cannot take every line.
API rate limits
The public API has its own per-key request budget — see Rate limits.
